Marketing "Without a doubt, the most important component of a businesses', or organization's, survival is its marketing philosophy. Brilliant products can be developed, slick packaging designed, and advertising of 'some sort' can be developed, but if there isn't in place a well thought out marketing philosophy and a plan in place to project that philosophy, the entire venture is doomed to failure. "For those not familiar with the term, marketing includes not only advertising, but the logistics and methods of manufacturing, wholesale delivery and warehousing, audience marketing research, actual advertising and promotion, sales, customer service and satisfaction, and public relations. Marketing is the organic, branded philosophy of the entire enterprise. "Marketing research, arguably, is the chief ingredient for a product or service's success. Unless marketers identify and intimately know their market demographic and intended product audience, how are they to formulate and distribute a sound advertising campaign? In the simplest of terms, 'Who are you going to sell to?' Followed with, 'How are you going to sell to them?' My advice: Spend as much as you have to in order to clearly identify your market demographic and what that target audience needs, and/or wants." Don McKay
