That's true. What I do for a living is advertising copywriting and copywriting in general. If my writing doesn't motivate your customers to act and purchase your products, or service, then I'm off to Lowe's to buy a good shovel. Agreed, photographs and illustrations are often vital to the successful selling of a commodity. But, in the case of a 'type only' advertisement, it will be the carefully-crafted words that will carry the day. What ever the product being sold, it is my task to describe its attributes fully... pointing out the product's benefits to the buyer... then creating within the buyer an overwhelming desire for the product. Most important: I've got to motivate the reader to act, to go out and purchase my client's product or service. Is this the kind of attentive copywriting you've been used to?
