Mr. David Pierson
Branson and Pierson Engineering
720 Southern Blvd.
Tryon, NC 28732

Dear Mr. Pierson,

Would you do me a favor and accept my engineering consultation services at your company for three hours free of charge?

Truly… free of charge. And, let me assure you, Mr. Pierson, there is no 'catch'.

While it is true that I'm making this offer to Branson and Pierson Engineering in order to establish business relations, I am willing to give you three hours of my internationally-recognized expertise free. Of course, I will be making suggestions how my company can be of great benefit to yours, however, whether or not you wish to proceed with a business partnership, the time of my visit will cost Branson and Pierson absolutely nothing.

As you may be aware, Mr. Pierson, I recently returned from Iraq where I was contracted by two major petroleum firms to inspect and suggest improvements to the five main oil pipelines out of Mosul and Basra. My suggestion to bury the exposed pipes eight feet below the surface, and encase the switchers and valves in underground bomb-proof concrete and steel shells has already produced profitable benefits. There has not been a single report of disrupted oil flow from the prime Iraqi oil fields.

Seeing that Branson and Pierson Engineering sometimes becomes involved in field assignments involving the pipeline transportation of oil and natural gas, I am confident that my Iraqi expertise will be of benefit to your company. With the offer of three hours of my time at no charge to Branson and Pierson, you will have the opportunity to experience the innovations and efficiency of J. Robert Pamplin Company Consulting Engineers. I will contact your office to arrange scheduling.

Sincerely yours… and thank you for 'doing me a favor' by accepting my free offer.

J. Robert Pamplin
